To ensure that your custom wallpaper maintains its beauty and durability for many years, it is essential to follow some simple care and cleaning tips. Our materials are high quality and designed to last, but proper maintenance makes all the difference.
Daily Care and Prevention:
- Avoid Direct Exposure to Strong Sunlight: Although our inks are UV resistant, prolonged and direct exposure to intense sunlight can, over time, cause slight fading. If possible, use curtains or blinds on windows that receive a lot of sun.
- Keep Humidity Controlled: In very humid environments (such as bathrooms without adequate ventilation), make sure the chosen material is the most suitable (vinyl) and try to maintain good ventilation to avoid mold growth.
- Be Careful with Sharp Objects: Avoid dragging furniture or sharp objects near the wallpaper to prevent scratches and tears.
Cleaning Instructions:
The good news is that most of our wallpapers are very easy to clean! Instructions vary slightly depending on the type of material:
For Vinyl Wallpapers (Premium Matte and Textured):
- Regular Cleaning: Use a soft, clean cloth, slightly dampened with water. Gently wipe the surface to remove dust and light dirt.
- Light Stains: For more persistent stains (such as fingerprints, light pencil marks), add a small amount of neutral soap (liquid and dye-free) to the water. Clean with the damp cloth and then wipe with a clean, dry cloth to remove excess moisture.
- Tough Stains (with caution): For specific stains like pen or grease, try cleaning immediately with a cloth slightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol (applied first to the cloth, not directly on the wall) or a mild degreasing detergent. Always test in a discreet area first to ensure there will be no discoloration.
- NEVER use: Abrasive products, strong solvents, bleach, hard-bristle brushes, or steel wool, as they can damage the surface and print.
For Eco-friendly "Peel & Stick" Wallpapers:
- Regular Cleaning: Use a soft, clean cloth, lightly dampened with water. This material is more delicate than vinyl.
- Light Stains: Just water with a soft cloth. Avoid scrubbing hard.
- NEVER use: Strong soaps, chemicals, solvents, or excessive water, as they can compromise the adhesive or the material’s integrity. This material is water-resistant but not fully washable like vinyl.
Important Cleaning Tips:
- Test First: Always test any cleaning method on a discreet area of the wallpaper (for example, a corner behind furniture) before applying it to a larger area.
- Clean Immediately: Stains should be cleaned as quickly as possible to prevent them from drying and becoming harder to remove.
- Do Not Saturate the Wall: Use just enough liquid to dampen the cloth, avoiding saturating the wallpaper, which can cause peeling or damage.
- Always Dry: After wet cleaning, wipe with a dry, clean cloth to remove any excess moisture.
By following these guidelines, your custom wallpaper will remain vibrant and like new for a long time, becoming an inspiring focal point in your space.
