Measuring your wall accurately is crucial to ensure your custom wallpaper fits perfectly and to avoid waste. Follow this simple guide:
1. Necessary Tools:
- Measuring tape (preferably metal for greater accuracy)
- Pencil
- Notebook or notepad
- Ladder (if the wall is very high)
- A helper (optional, but recommended for large walls)
2. Measure the Width of the Wall:
- Step 1: Measure the width of the wall from end to end at three different points: near the ceiling, in the middle of the wall, and near the baseboard.
- Step 2: Record the largest measurement obtained.
- Step 3: Add a safety margin of 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 inches) to the total width. This is important to compensate for small imperfections in the walls or cutting variations.
3. Measure the Height of the Wall:
- Step 1: Measure the height of the wall from the baseboard to the ceiling at three different points: the left corner, the middle, and the right corner.
- Step 2: Record the largest measurement obtained.
- Step 3: Add a safety margin of 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 inches) to the total height. This will ensure you have enough material for alignment and final trimming.
4. Additional Considerations:
- Doors and Windows: If the wall has doors or windows, measure the total width and height of the wall as if they did not exist. The wallpaper will be cut to go around these elements during installation.
- Outlets and Switches: Don't worry about measuring around outlets or switches. They will be temporarily removed during installation and cut on site.
- Final Format: Provide the final measurements (width and height, already with the safety margin added) in centimeters (cm) or meters (m) as requested on our website.
Example: If your wall is 350 cm wide and 240 cm high:
- Final width for the order: 350 cm + 10 cm (margin) = 360 cm
- Final height for the order: 240 cm + 10 cm (margin) = 250 cm
By following these instructions, you will ensure your custom wallpaper arrives with the ideal size for a perfect installation! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our support team.
